Good news! Despite not being carried past the 2019 model year, there are still over 400 BRAND NEW Nissan Micras sitting in dealer lots across Canada.
I honestly love these things and actually put a deposit on one twice. I mean...so cheap! I had one agreed at $8K Canadian before I decided against it.
These things drive well and have perfect “slow car fast” dynamics.
You can pick them up all day long at below $10K Canadian ($7000USD) all in, brand new with 0 miles and a full warranty.
I am pretty sure that if I bought a GTR, I could get 2 Micras thrown in for free.
God.. I should trade the Forte in on (for) one....or two.

Someone should buy them all and start a spec racing league!
I sort of knew that Quebec got some odd European cars, but didn’t realize the Micra was available on this side of the pond at all.

I think that if we all send CB $5K Canadian/$3K USD he can do a bulk order of them and keep them there in Saskatchewan.
I mean, he already posted about lots of cars just laying about his town and rural Saskatchewan seems like a central place to build an Oppo Motorsports park.

Also, clearly most Canadians are not aware we got the Micra lol

only if I can bring a couple of bikes and run them on track same time as you guys.

I think we'd have to limit you at 100cc's. For a fighting chance

How about Edmonton — plenty of oil men sitting idle right now with the right mental attitude for racing, I t hink.
First 100 spectators get a free barrel!

I’m all about the slow-car fast ethos. That Micra racing series is probably a good bit of fun.

hmm...you know, i will take a CC cap. But Id argue 400. a micra will do 180km. a 110cc wont do 120

7k for a brand new car!? Wowzers!

180 km in a micra?
*insert press x to doubt meme*

I know right. And one with fantastic dynamics

I completely forgot about the Micra, never see them in Montreal or Vancouver. I’d buy one as a cheap DD, I imagine they’re pretty good on gas.

I’ve considered one as a replacement for the Accent at some point! I bet you could even find one cheaper than $7K if you haggled a bit....I bet any base-spec manual versions with no A/C would be ridiculously cheap...

On 9 January 2014, Nissan Canada Inc. announced the return of the Micra back to the Canadian market after 21 years of absence. Sales started in spring 2014 as a 2015-year model, taking the place of the slow-selling Versa sedan. [105] The car was not sold in the United States. [106]
The company revealed the car’s starting price of C$9,998 for the base, 5-speed manual transmission model at the 2014 Canadian International Auto Show in February. The price made it the least expensive new car in the country by a significant margin. [107]

They are quite common around here...I like them. A friend of the family has one with a manual and it’s been quite reliable and a nice fuel-sipper. They’re also surprisingly fun for being a cheap econobox!

Are these fundamentally different than the Versa? Because the Versa drove like a total pile of garbage.

Oh yeah. I think you could probably get a steal of a deal right now. I got them down to $8k a year and a half ago on a base model, given the current stock and economic situation, I would shave another grand at least

I'm no expert, but yes they are different. Much smaller, different platform and the manual is not bad

Isnt that Japanese market adapted to be sold in Europe with Canada as an afterthought?

Getting to Saskatchewan and back would cost as much as the car for me and I couldn't take it home. Oppo Motorsports park sounds good though.

My Accent was $7K with 54,000kms on it when I got it, lol

I say go for it. Negotiate and then finance at 0% for 96 months. Just stick a $5 bill in the mail every month for the next 8 years
